Updates to App Tracking Transparency in the European Union

Apple is updating its App Tracking Transparency framework in the European Union following agreements with competition authorities. Starting with iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2, developers can utilize an alternative system prompt. While permission requirements for tracking users remain unchanged, the alternative prompt is mandatory for apps distributed in Germany, France, Italy, Poland, and Romania due to legal requirements. This change reflects Apple's recent deal with the bloc to modify how tracking permissions are handled within these regions.
