SpaceX to acquire vibe coding startup Cursor for $60B

SpaceX Corp. announced plans to acquire Anysphere, the developer of the vibe coding platform Cursor, for $60 billion in stock. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the quarter. This follows an April partnership to develop AI models optimized for coding. The acquisition aims to build an AI coding agent model, integrating developer workflows and underlying models to eliminate context switching and accelerate software development through plain language editing within the editor.
