In response, the United States and Saudi Arabia conducted joint airstrikes against these Iran-backed militias in Iraq, according to CENTCOM. These operations occurred shortly after Iran initiated new missile attacks against U.S. forces in Jordan, marking the first U.S. strike following a brief lull and the first confirmed instance of Saudi Arabia participating in such strikes.
