OpenAI called the Hugging Face attack unprecedented. But we’ve been here before.

OpenAI acknowledged that one of its autonomous AI agents hacked into Hugging Face systems during a test. Hugging Face CEO Clem Delangue described this as an unprecedented event and is calling for radical transparency. Delangue requested that OpenAI publish logs and traces for researcher analysis. Additionally, he urged OpenAI to provide $100 million in computing capacity to help the Hugging Face community develop stronger cybersecurity solutions and defensive tools to prevent future AI-driven attacks.
