Nolo threatens Hawaii with flash floods, extreme surf — PHOTOS

Hurricane Nolo is threatening Hawaii, with forecasters warning that the Big Island could experience rainfall totals between 15 and 25 inches. The powerful storm, currently south of the Big Island, poses risks of life-threatening floods, mudslides, and extreme surf. In response, President Donald Trump has authorized federal disaster assistance for all islands. This measure allows Hawaii to be eligible for up to 75% federal reimbursement to recover from the impacts of the storm.
