Netherlands moves to buy Saab GlobalEye radar jet

The Netherlands has initiated the formal process to acquire the Saab GlobalEye airborne early warning and control aircraft. On September 10, the Dutch Ministry of Defence and Sweden signed a letter of intent for the purchase of this surveillance plane. Currently, the Netherlands lacks long-range surveillance capabilities and depends partially on the aging NATO AWACS fleet. This acquisition aims to provide the Dutch military with dedicated long-range surveillance and control capabilities through the Saab GlobalEye system.
