Meta now has free verification for Facebook users, as long as they’re willing to upload a video selfie

Meta Platforms has launched Facebook Verified, a free service allowing users to obtain a verification badge by uploading a short video selfie. This process utilizes facial-recognition technology to match the video against existing profile photos, confirming a real person manages the account. Initially, these badges will appear on profiles, Facebook Marketplace, Dating, and Groups, with plans to expand to feed posts. Users only need to complete this one-time verification process without paying any subscription fee.
