Grand water procession

In Ibaraki prefecture, a fleet led by a gozabune carrying the deity Takemikazuchi-no-Okami navigated the Wani River on Sept. 2. This event marked the start of the Mifune Matsuri, a grand festival held every 12 years by Kashima Shrine. Separately, on Sept. 24, the city of Pflugerville requested that its residents temporarily reduce their water usage. This request was made to facilitate necessary repair work currently being conducted at the local water plant.
