Google Nears Release of Flagship Gemini 4 AI Model

Google is approaching the release of its flagship Gemini 4 AI model, according to the head of Google DeepMind, Kavukcuoglu. Speaking at The Information’s AI Agenda Live Summit, he stated that Gemini 4 is currently in the post-training phase, where the base model is refined for reliability. This development follows Google falling behind rivals OpenAI and Anthropic. Kavukcuoglu expressed hope that the new model will be officially released much earlier than the end of the year.
