Famed ‘Odyssey’ Translator Rips Nolan’s Film: ” I Would Be Ashamed”

Emily Wilson, a University of Pennsylvania professor and translator of The Odyssey into iambic pentameter, has released a scathing review of Christopher Nolan's film adaptation. Wilson described the work as a confused and abysmal interpretation of Homer's original text. Despite Nolan citing the first line of her translation, stating, "Tell me about a complicated man," Wilson expressed that she would be ashamed of the adaptation, criticizing the director's approach to the classic Greek epic.
