Codeberg Bans Cryptocurrency and LLM-Generated Code Projects

Codeberg, a community-led open source hosting site, has formally banned projects where code is substantially or fully generated by LLMs, including Claude and OpenAI Codex. This decision follows a community vote that also prohibited the scraping of project code for LLM training. Additionally, the platform has implemented a similar ban on cryptocurrency-related projects. These measures ensure that machine-generated content and crypto-assets are no longer welcome on the hosting service, as determined by the community.
