Chad Gilbert, the founding lead guitarist and backing vocalist of New Found Glory, died peacefully in his sleep on September 20 at age 45. His wife, Lisa Cimorelli, and bandmates confirmed the death following his battle with brain cancer. In March, emergency surgery revealed three tumors, and his metastatic pheochromocytoma was upgraded to stage 4 adrenocortical carcinoma. The band expressed devastation over his quick departure while celebrating his legacy as a musician, husband, and father.
