Boeing Has Now Eaten $3B In Air Force One Cost Overruns

Boeing is absorbing billions of dollars in cost overruns to ensure the delivery of the first fully-equipped VC-25B jet by 2028, following extensive delays. The company recently recorded an additional $280M charge. CEO Kelly Ortberg stated that while the charge is disappointing, Boeing is investing to maintain its commitment to the customer, emphasizing that schedule performance is critical for the Air Force One replacement project despite the substantial financial impact on the company.
