Another Far Cry game is in the works

Ubisoft has officially scrapped an extraction shooter project internally known as Maverick. In its place, the studio has initiated production on a new open-world FPS codenamed Kodiak. This new project has already passed the conceptualization phase and will utilize existing development resources from Maverick to maintain efficiency. While Ubisoft previously hinted at two Far Cry titles in development, the focus has now shifted away from the extraction genre toward a traditional open-world experience for the franchise.
